4-17-08. First Investigation - The Tunnel. Tonight, Chris Meadows and I, head out to an old abandoned train tunnel in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. We figured this would be a great place to start. We will not be in someone's home or having someone look over our shoulder as we do our first investigation together as SHOK, so no pressure. But it should still be some good experience and should let us get to know our equipment better and I have always wanted to go back. By going back, I mean I used to go here all the time as a teenager, good place to go and party or be alone with you know who and it still might be now, not sure though, but all those good times there ended at least for me about 15 years ago. Click here for more.
4-13-08. More added to the website. New Contact tab added to the left side, feel free to email me whatever, pics, wanting to join info, questions, needing something investigate, requesting help, etc. This would be the easiest way to Contact me, of course you still have the Forums and the Chat Box at the bottom to communicate with us. You may be noticing some new pics on the right bottom. There is a reason for these. First off you have, Waverly Hills. Waverly Hills is definitely # 1 for a reason. It is one of few places especially in Kentucky where you can go, where anyone can go and spend the night at and do some investigating, for a price, but nonetheless you can. I am for these places existing and do hope more of these pop up in the future, so therefore I support Waverly. The real reason it is number 1 though is to come. Next up is Bardstown, Bardstown has some so called haunted Bed & Breakfast in The Jailers Inn, Talbott Tavern, etc. plus Patti Starr does a ghost walk which should nonetheless be entertaining, so in my opinion needs to be on here. More information on this town is on its way soon. Next is Scarefest, a horror and paranormal convention held right here in central Kentucky in Lexington's Heritage Hall. I am definitely wanting this to be big and be a success so every year we can have another one, so I am supporting this and want everyone to go. This won't be a cheap half done convention either, it is being put on by some serious people Jeff (I believe it is & I didn't get the last name), Patti and Chuck Starr and they already have some of the best in business signed on to be there, including John Zaffis, 3 Taps members from GHI, Patti Starr, Chip Coffey, etc. so I am eagerly awaiting this convention. Next little pic on the list is the TAPS one. Taps is the best in the business, the premiere role model group, that has brought the national spotlight on ghost hunting. Also the way they ghost hunt, the rules they employ and the way they go about getting evidence is identical or really close to the same way SHOK does. But the main reason it is there, which kind of ties in the next the one the Ghost Hunter show pic and link, and Waverly. Back before Halloween of 2007, I wasn't really even into ghost hunting at all. But someone suggested I should watch the Ghost Hunter's Halloween live event at Waverly Hills. Well that day of Halloween, A Haunting, (the show) had a marathon and later that night I watched the Ghost Hunter's event and I was instantly hooked after that. Exploring through an old abandoned Asylum only 2 hours away that I could go to myself and the way they was collecting evidence or trying to of paranormal activity in a scientific matter (no physics, no seances, no ouija boards, etc.), just hard evidence on recording devices, this method intrigued me very much, as it would be easier to prove to a sceptic. Well then I was watching every epsiode of GH, A Haunting, even Most Haunted and everything I could get my hands on, started reading books and everything I could find on the net (which, by the way is a lot) about the subject, buying equipment, booking trips, etc. Well come to find my friend and co-worker Chris Meadows was just as intrigued or as hooked as I was. So therefore we started this group, come up with the name and then started this website. So there is a brief history of how we come about and why the links on the right exist. More Links are to come, they will probably be the next thing I add to the website.
4-04-08. Much added to the website, new Dates page added, also. Small pics added to the right side, will eventually have a page dedicated to each picture, still more to come, so stay tuned.
3-30-08 . Welcome to S-H-O-K.com. This website is under construction and still has a long ways to go, but the Forums are working, so feel free to post away any thoughts, comments or suggestions you may have there, I'll keep working on the website in the meantime. You may be asking what is SHOK, SHOK stands for Shadow Hunters Of Kentucky, of course any person can see this from the banner in the top of the website, but what is SHOK, actually? SHOK is a new group of open-minded skeptics cofounded by myself, myself being Chris Dooley and Chris Meadows to start investigating so called haunted places with unexplained events with the hopeful event of collecting some good evidence, whether that be pictures, videos or audio, that shows something we can't explain scientifically. The evidence we collect will then be posted here, for everyone on the web to go over. We are also interested in helping individuals or families out, who think they are experiencing paranormal activities. So that is a little of what we are about, for more information of what we are about, go here or click on the About Us tab on the left.
