5-29-08.  Almost the end of May and lot is going on.  So I apologize for the lack of updating the site and some updates of SHOK, but there is a good reason for it.  Speaking of SHOK and the main reason the site isn't updated and our group has been busy, I am unfortunate to say we are changing the name of our group.  It is not something I want to do, but I feel it is something we must do.  It has been pointed out to us from the nice folks over at Kentucky Shadow Chasers, that a SHOK (Spirit Hunters Of Knoxville) and a SHOCK (Spirit Hunters Of Central Kentucky) already exist, fairly close to our name you would have to say.  Upon researching names to call ourselves in our beginning in February, these names or websites didn't come up, so we didn't know these existed until now.  I still can't find a search engine that'll come up with these names.  But, I don't want to sound too similar with another group or have our initials be the same of another paranormal group, so in my opinion, just based on this, we should change the name of our group, you know before you guys buy too much of our merchandise and all.  Maybe we could have kept the name and fight this, but I do believe they was here first and that would be the right thing to do.

So what have we been up to, besides coming up with a new name for our group.  Well the Soule's Chapel got rained out and we called it off.  We will go there, hopefully in the middle of June, sometime, this will get posted on what date we come up with. But, now the Waverly Hills trip went very well on the 23rd.  12 of us went and had a real good time.  I can't wait to post the full report of this investigation and any evidence we might have collected from this monstrous old building.  Some of us that went are not the hardcore investigators that Meadows and I are, but I do feel we investigated the place fairly well and should have something to put here on the website.  It is good to know that the group formerly known as SHOK, got 12 people together and went.  The interest is out there for this and our group hopefully will continue to grow. Who knows, most of these people might turn into fulltime hardcore investigators.  But we welcome part-timers and beginners to our group as long as they can keep our code of conduct during the investigation.  So if your thinking of joining a group in Kentucky, then try us out.  We also have the Bardstown trip coming up soon in June, in which more people can go.

So stay tuned for the new name and a new website, coming real soon.  There will be one more post to this website and that's it.  It's basically going to be a big pic of the new name and website and the link to it.  So look out for that while I migrate and change everything over.  This group will continue to move on and get past this little speed bump in the road of our name changing.

5-09-08.  Just wanted to update anyone who is keeping up with us with what is going on.  We should have two investigations coming up with Soule's Chapel hopefully happening this coming Thursday night and Waverly Hills, May 23rd.  We do have openings for Soule's Chapel but not for Waverly, sorry.  We should get some great stuff out of those two investigations to add to the website, so look for that stuff soon.  The first investigation is officially in the books, the whole report and results are on the website, so read away, with maybe 2 and at least 1 surprising EVP, I wasn't counting on much from the train tunnel, so I was surprised.  I have been spending most of my time adding and creating the SHOK Shop, yes, we got us a store!  It's been addicting though, thus putting off this news update for a long time, making and creating items to sell with the SHOK name plastered all over the place is just great fun.  And really who doesn't need the SHOK Clock anyway?  But anyhow check out the store, you can find it on the left side tab under  SHOP or you could just click right here .   SHOK does get to keep a couple of dollars on each item you buy, so spend away, which will go to buy new gear.  Only 5000 more shirts to sell until we get the FLIR thermal camera we have our eyes on.  Also, I have made some prototype shirts for us investigators, that came out awesome, just got to get some more made.

I ordered some new gear which should help out on further investigations and all of it has came in and ready for use.  Infrared Extender, for the camcorder, which proved to be a problem on the first investigation, this should help the night vision, should extend it until 30 foot instead of 10.  Also a battery for the camcorder/infrared extender, they take the same battery.  A K-2 meter, anyone who watches Ghost Hunters, knows what this is for.  But anyway it is basically a EMF meter with lights instead of a digital reading, like the other meter we have, but supposedly the ghost/spirits can interact with the meter more easily.  Only thing I don't like is you got to hold the button down for it to be on.  I seen one on the net modified with a toggle switch which would be great.  Last, but not least is a digital infrared thermometer.  I didn't figure we would really need this, because you can feel a cold spot.  But feeling something and having proof of something is two different things indeed.  Just like in the tunnel we felt cold spots all the time, but we couldn't say for a fact that the temperature was actually dropping, now we can.  If the temperature drops 20 degrees we will know it and have a scientific measure of the temperature to prove it.

What's coming up next?  I got around 11 pics to add to the net, they look paranormal, but my money is on a junky camera.  Also got to add about 10 more things for the SHOK Shop, you guys can never have too much junk to buy with the SHOK name on it, we're selling out to the man, just kidding, we are waiting on the man's check.  Also a couple of investigations and get more shirts for our investigators made, I really hate to be the only one looking good at the next investigation.  I still got to get the Links page made up, as I have some good ones to add here.
